Sat Sept 22, 8-11pm The Finding Shade Band originated in Edgewood, TX. What started as a group of friends just hanging out and playing together has since grown into a six piece Red Dirt band dedicated to entertaining friends and fans with the best of Texas country. Finding Shade’s passion for music as well as their reality of “real life” is apparent in each original they perform; each member of the Finding Shade Band juggles full time jobs, families, and various obligations while still keeping their love of music alive. These musicians write about their experiences and the people that have influenced them along the way and then share it with audiences from all over. In addition to their originals, the band also plays a variety of covers from genres including Blues, Country, and Classic Rock so there is always a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy.

Carmel Johnsen performs as lead vocalist with a combination of beauty, power, and vulnerability that creates a sense of intimacy and relaxation in the listener.

Kevin Johnsen plays keyboard and sings harmony with Carmel and the music is sensitive and stirring, even as a duet.
